Spotlight: Michelle Kwan
Figure skater Michelle Kwan is back! At last month's Skate America competition in Detroit, Michigan, Michelle whipped past tiny Tara Lipinski. Last spring Tara, 15, became the youngest world champ ever. But Tara took a spill in Detroit while Michelle, 17, skated perfectly. Both skaters have their eye on an Olympic gold medal in Nagano, Japan, in February. Skating judges love Michelle's sleek grace on the ice. But powerhouse Tara, four inches shorter than Michelle, has an easier time jumping and spinning. "I knew I could just let go and fly," says Michelle of her Detroit victory.
