Spotlight: Eddie Armstrong
As a seventh-grader in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Eddie Armstrong once played basketball with Bill Clinton. Clinton, then Governor, gave Eddie's team some advice: Stay off the street.
Eddie, now 19 and a University of Arkansas student, didn't foul up. He was just named National Youth of the Year by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. He went to the White House to be congratulated by his old pal Clinton. Eddie won for leadership skills, grades and community service. His prize is a $10,000 scholarship to help pay for college. "No kid should think anything in life is impossible to achieve," Eddie told TFK. His next goal: to be mayor of North Little Rock.
