A Perfectly Pale Penguin
Scientists dream about sharing a discovery with the rest of the world. Gerald Kooyman of San Diego, California, got his chance. While measuring penguin populations in Antarctica, he stumbled upon one cool chick--an All-White Emperor Penguin. It's the first one ever reported! Kooyman almost missed the little tyke, because it just blended into the snowy scenery. Upon his return Kooyman said, "It really was a spectacular bird."
