A Dancer's Generous Feat
Renee Crous, 8, got the shoes off her favorite dancer's feet. "They're sort of tattered," she said of Mikhail Baryshnikov's slippers. Renee had asked the dancer for his shoes to sell at her ballet troupe's auction to raise money for a children's hospital. The slippers sold for $2,900 at the auction. Baryshnikov won't miss them: he has danced barefoot since 1990.
