Spotlight: Linda Finch
Why did pioneering pilot Amelia Earhart suddenly vanish over the South Pacific in 1937? Some say she landed safely on a tropical island. Others fear that her plane crashed. But Texas businesswoman Linda Finch prefers to focus on how Earhart inspired millions to reach "above and beyond limitations." On March 17, exactly 60 years after Earhart took off to fly around the world, Finch will begin retracing the fateful route. Her goal: "To share Earhart's vision with young people." Her Lockheed Electra 10E plane--the same model Earhart used--flies just 150 miles an hour. By early summer, she will have made 37 Finch's flight on the Internet at www.worldflight.org
