Spotlight: Pa
For two days every winter, New York City's Madison Square Garden goes to the dogs. Some 2,500 posh pooches pranced before judges at the 121st Westminster Kennel Club show on February 10 and 11. The star of the show? Five-year-old Parsifal Di Casa Netzer, better known as Pa. Pa is the first standard schnauzer ever to win "best-in-show" at Westminster, beating 155 other stylish breeds of canines. Judge Dorothy Collier called Pa "perfect."
Schnauzers date back to the 1400s, when they patrolled European castles for royalty and caught rats. This year Pa's groomed looks earned him a tastier treat: chopped sirloin on a silver platter at a fancy New York steak house.
