Rescued: A Baby Whale

On January 11, a newborn Gray Whale was found beached and all alone off the coast of Marina Del Ray, California. The underweight whale was rescued and taken to Sea World in San Diego. The folks at Sea World have been working around the clock, feeding her every three hours. In less than a week, the calf has gained 80 pounds and grown more active, which makes her caregivers hopeful. "If she's doing well, we are all smiling," said supervisor Keith Yip. "So far, we're all pretty happy." Yip and his team hope the whale will grow healthy enough to be set free.
