Promoting King's Dream

"I have a dream." Is there any American who does not recognize those words? They were spoken by the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. at a civil-rights march in 1963. King was a skillful public speaker who believed that injustice could be overcome by peaceful protest. King, who was assassinated on April 4, 1968, would have turned 68 on January 15.

Last week King's family and Time Warner Inc. announced a deal that will make King's words even more familiar. Time Warner (publisher of TFK) will publish all of King's writing and speeches--in books, on cd-roms and at a Website. The family and Time Warner could make millions from the deal. King's widow, Coretta Scott King, hopes it will promote her husband's ideas and his dream.
