Top 5 Snowiest Cities in the U.S.
Last January, Eastern states were walloped by snowstorms. This year, so far, it's the West that's getting pounded. It's too soon to say which city will spend the most days shoveling in 1997. But here are the average annual snowfalls of the cities that get buried in flakes year after year.
Mean annual snowfall (in inches):
1. 240.8 Blue Canyon, California
2. 129.2 Marquette, Michigan
3. 116.1 Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan
4. 114.0 Syracuse, N.Y.
5. 110.0 Caribou, Maine
