Another Big Yankee Win!
It's unanimous: Derek Jeter is the man! The 22-year-old Yankees shortstop was named American League Rookie of the Year last week. Not one first-place vote was cast for any other player.
Jeter batted .314 with 10 home runs. In the play-offs, he hit the homer that 12-year-old fan Jeffrey Maier caught.
"Winning a world championship is the best, even more than winning this award," Jeter said. "I guess it's safe to say it's been a great year."
