Spotlight: Destiny's Child
![]() |
Destiny's Child has survived big changes since its first album as a foursome in 1997. Last year two singers were replaced, but one later left. Through it all, the pop group has stayed high on the charts. Last month it won four Billboard Music Awards, including Artist of the Year.
What's next? Plenty! From left, Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé (Bee-on-say) Knowles, both 19, and Michelle Williams, 20, were nominees at this week's American Music Awards. Next month Destiny's Child could win up to five Grammys for the hits Say My Name and Independent Women Part I (from Charlie's Angels). The trio's new CD, Survivor, comes out in April. After that? Says Knowles: "We're going to work out and take care of ourselves."
Next: A Wiener Winner!
