Campaign Update

AW, COME ON, ROSS: It was supposed to be a secret mission, but word slipped out. Bob Dole, fearing a big loss to Bill Clinton in the presidential election, sent his campaign manager, Scott Reed, to Texas to meet with Ross Perot. Why? Dole wanted Perot to quit running for President and support him instead. Perot, still mad that Dole had kept him out of the presidential debates, was not about to help his Republican rival. The idea, he said, was "weird."
