Watermelons, peaches, plums: summer is the season for fruit. But pound for pound, bananas are the most a-peel-ing. Here's how many of these juicy favorites the average American eats in one year:
1. Bananas: 28 pounds--about 56 bananas
2. Apples: 20 pounds--about 60 apples
3. Oranges: 13 pounds--about 26 small oranges
4. Grapes: 7 pounds--about 29 small bunches
5. Grapefruit: 6 pounds--about 6 grapefruit
