Would you spend $42,500 for a French grammar book? Somebody did! Last week an auction house in New York City sold the belongings of the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, wife of President John F. Kennedy. Fans of the Kennedys spent millions to own a bit of history. The desk on which J.F.K. signed an important treaty sold for $1.43 million. The pearls Jackie wore in this 1962 photo are fake, but they sold for more than $200,000!
