They're Off To The Super Bowl

They showed no mercy. Although written off as a weak team in the regular season, on January 14 the New York Giants beat the Minnesota Vikings by a whopping 41-0 and won a spot in the Super Bowl.

"Some days it rains; some days it floods," said Vikings owner Red McCombs. "We got a flood." One big reason for the flood: Giants quarterback Kerry Collins. He threw five touchdown passes.

On January 28 in Tampa, Florida, the Giants will face the Baltimore Ravens, who got to the Super Bowl by beating the Oakland Raiders 16-3. The mighty Baltimore defense was crucial to the team's success.

The Ravens won more games than any other team in the NFL this season. Their record: 15-4. But can they win their very first Super Bowl? Darn right, says cornerback Duane Starks: "It makes no sense to play in the Super Bowl if you're not going to win it."
