An Award-Winning Artist

Earlier this year, the illustrator Kadir Nelson won the American Library Association's Coretta Scott King Award for Ellington Was Not a Street. The award honors African-American authors and illustrators. "I enjoy painting images of African-American culture because of its rich history," Nelson told TFK. Will his next book, He's Got the Whole World in His Hands, win awards?
