Hannah Taylor Gordon, 14, didn’t mind having to shave her head to play Anne Frank-she would’ve given her right arm for the part! Says Hannah: "I really wanted this." The English actress stars in the ABC-TV movie Anne Frank, about the Jewish girl who lived in Amsterdam during the Holocaust. The movie-based on Melissa Müller’s book Anne Frank: The Biography (Owl Books)-airs May 20-21.
Hannah was chosen from 1,200 actors for the role. Aside from her eerie resemblance to Anne, Hannah says the two would have shared common interests. "Anne really liked gossiping," she says. "That’s the same with me." Hannah too once kept a diary but would never want to see it published. "I would be quite distressed that others were reading my private thoughts!" she says.
