Last week, Little League baseball catcher Michael Memea, 12, made history with one mighty swing of his bat. His team, West Oahu, was tied with Curacao in extra innings of the World Series championship game. Michael smacked a home run to give West Oahu a 7-6 victory over the defending champions. It was the first World Series title for a Hawaii team. "I knew it was gone," Michael said of the blast, the first game-ending home run in a Little League championship game. Michael's cheering teammates hugged him at home plate.
