Wealthy nations donate billions of dollars each year to help fight
poverty and disease in poor countries. The U.S. donates the most money,
but it also has the most to give. In terms of the percentage* of a nation's wealth that is donated, these small nations are the most generous countries in the world.
* For example, a person with $100 who donates $1 is more generous than a person with $1,000 who donates $2.
