What a Team Player!

Though he lives in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, Jonathan Farrar, 12, is a New York Yankees fan. He saved $1,000 to travel from his home to attend a game at Yankee Stadium this spring. But Jonathan put the Yankees on hold. Instead, he donated the money to help save his town's elementary and high schools after learning that they could not afford to stay open. Last month, he got good news. Yankees owner George Steinbrenner heard Jonathan's story and invited him to a game. An added bonus: The Pleasant Plains schools raised enough money to stay open. "My donation didn't save the schools," he told TFK. "It was no one person."
