Electrical engineer Rachel Hutter gets paid to ride roller coasters, but that's only a small part of her job. Hutter works at Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida. She sees to it that all of the park's rides are safe.
Hutter also helps decide what rides should look like and how fast they should go. She leads a team of engineers and technicians. The group works to make sure that all of the rides run the way they were designed to run. The team is responsible for maintaining more than 70 rides.
Hutter always dreamed of working on theme park rides as a kid. Her dreams turned into reality when she became an engineer. "Science can be fun," she told TFK. "Whether you're riding a bike or a roller coaster, these things wouldn't exist without engineering."
