Teachers can have a lasting impact on your life. Just ask First Lady Laura Bush. Two weeks ago, she visited New York City with her second-grade teacher, Charlene Gnagy. They helped announce TeachersCount, a campaign to attract new teachers to the profession. Magazine ads will feature successful people praising teachers who taught them to love learning. Mrs. Bush says that Mrs. Gnagy, who posed with her for one of the ads, inspired her to be a teacher. "Mrs. Gnagy made us feel that we were all teacher's pets," she said.
