5 Question for the Barber Brothers
The twins talk about their new kids' book and what it is like to face
off on the football field
TFK: When your teams play against each other, do you root for one another?
Ronde: Other than mine, there's no team I root harder for than [Tiki's].
That's just the nature of our growing up as teammates. You just can't
take that out of us.
TFK: What makes a good teammate?
Tiki: Someone who tries to make those around him better.
TFK: How have you made each other better?
Ronde: Constructive criticism. When you know someone is looking out for
your best interests, you hear what you need to hear, not what you want
to hear.
Tiki: Even from a thousand miles away, he still holds me accountable.
TFK: Did competition ever get in the way when you were kids?
Tiki: We never directly competed. He played defense, I played offense.
But each other's successes would drive us.
TFK: What do you hope kids learn from your books?
Ronde: Family first. And to never give up.
