A Changing Of the Guard

Moira Cameron, 42, is going where no woman has gone before. Last week, the British army soldier became the first female to be named a Beefeater. She beat five men to land the important post. In the past, Beefeaters guarded the Tower of London and its prisoners. Today, Beefeaters serve as guides to the more than 2 million people who visit the Tower each year. "You do this job for prestige, and because you meet people every day," says Cameron, who served 22 years in the army before she was eligible for the job.
