After 442 touchdown passes and 61,655 passing yardsóboth records in the National Football League (NFL) Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre is saying goodbye to his beloved sport.
Last week, the three-time MVP announced his retirement from the NFL after 17 seasons. "I know I can still play," Favre, 38, told ESPN. "But I'm just tired."
In January, he became the second quarterback in the history of the NFL to pass more than 5,000 yards in the postseason. "His accomplishments are legendary," said Packers general manager Ted Thompson. "It's the passion with which he played that made everyone a Brett Favre fan."
