Goodbye, Neighbor!

There goes the neighborhood. On August 31, TV legend Fred Rogers hung up his cardigan. It was like any other day—almost. After 33 years of welcoming kids to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, the 73-year-old host is moving on. "I'm not retiring," he insists. Rogers plans to write books and website features. And little ones can still visit his "Neighborhood of Make-Believe" in reruns.
