What a trip! DAN PRICE, 45, pedaled 4,250 miles cross-country on a 27-speed tricycle. Price's journey began on November 1. Riding from his hometown of Joseph, Oregon, he passed through California, Texas and Louisiana, among other states. He finished in Key West, Florida, on February 13.
Price's trek was more work than play. He rode about 60 miles a day, sometimes in heavy traffic. He usually slept outdoors in a tiny tent. Why did he do it? Price was pushing pedal power and gas-free travel.
