On September 6, twin giant pandas were born at a breeding center in China. The five-day-old PANDA CUB (above) is one of seven born at the center since August 15. Watching the births has been "amazing," says Gerry Ellis, of the kids education group Globio. The tiny pandas are big news. There are fewer than 1,100 of the endangered bears in the world. Ellis told TFK that some of the cubs might be the first pandas released in the wild after being born in a center or a zoo.
