Author Brian Jacques (pronounced Jakes) has been getting the same question over and over from kids: "What happened to Martin the Warrior's dad?" Now his curious fans can finally find out. Jacques' 12th Redwall book, The Legend of Luke, comes out this month.
The Redwall series features an ongoing battle between the peaceful mice of Redwall fortress and an evil, cruel rat who challenges them. Jacques wrote his first Redwall book in 1987 for the blind children he used to read to in his native Liverpool, England. The Redwall tale, he says, is a "good old-fashioned yarn with a bit of magic in it."
