Danny and Betsy Nally like to talk turkey. Every year since 1996, the siblings spend months trying to persuade folks to donate turkeys and money to feed the hungry at Thanksgiving. Their program, Turkeys R Us, works! So far Danny, 12, and Betsy, 10, have collected more than 3,000 frozen birds. Their parents help them load donated turkeys onto their refrigerated truck and take them to the Greater Boston Food Bank, which helps the hungry.
Danny took action at age 8, after learning that thousands in his state- Massachusetts-wouldn't get to gobble up turkey at Thanksgiving. This year the Nallys hope to collect 4,000 birds. "Our goal is to end hunger," Danny says, "one step at a time."
