Champions of the World!

Yeah, sure, baseball's big guys--McGwire, Sosa, Griffey, Vaughn--they're all having a great season. But so are some of baseball's little guys--Frazier, Cardone and Fisher. The three players helped lead their Toms River, N.J., team to victory during this year's Little League World Series.

Nicknamed the "Beast from the East" by fans, the Toms River team clinched the title Aug. 29 with a 12-9 win over the team from Kashima, Japan. The players returned to their hometown as heroes. Shortstop Todd Frazier, pinch hitter Chris Cardone and pitcher Scott Fisher received some of the loudest cheers for their game-winning plays.

After the final game, Frazier said he was holding on to a souvenir. "I got my home-run ball right here," he said. "It just means everything to me."
