Cartoonist Jennifer Cardon Klein gave the emperor his new groove-well, part of it, anyway. Klein, 23, worked with nine other artists to create Disney's young emperor for The Emperor's New Groove. Klein is one of the youngest animators to work on a Disney film. By age 15, she knew she wanted to be a cartoonist. "I never thought I could make it a career," Klein says. As a teenager, she enrolled in an after-school animation program taught by Dave Master, a former animator for Warner Bros., the company behind Bugs Bunny cartoons.
Her talent soon brought job offers-and big-screen projects."]The Emperor's New Groove hits movie theaters on December 15.
