Farewell To Pooh's Friend

Christopher Robin Milne died April 20 at age 75. His love for a bear named Winnie at the London Zoo inspired his father A.A. Milne, below, to write three Winnie-the-Pooh books beginning in 1926. The real Christopher Robin disliked being confused with the fictional one. But he would sign Pooh books in return for a donation to the charity Save the Children.
