Last week was a rough one for First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. She was ordered to answer questions in court.
The Senate and a special jury are investigating an old business deal called Whitewater, after some land in Arkansas. They want to know if any laws were broken.
Years ago--before Bill Clinton was President--the Clintons were involved in the Whitewater deal. The law firm that Mrs. Clinton worked for became involved with her Whitewater partners. Now investigators want to question Mrs. Clinton about the work she did as a lawyer for the firm.
The Clintons say they did nothing wrong. The investigations are meant to hurt the President's chances of re-election, says Mrs. Clinton, but "I intend to cooperate."
