Juneau
Juneau is Alaska's capital city and was founded in the1880s as a gold rush town. Larger than the state of Rhode Island, Juneau is in the middle of one of the world's largest rainforests! Before miners and their families settled here, Juneau was home to Tlingit Indians who had lived in the area for thousands of years. Many descendants of those native tribes still live in Juneau today.
