Easter Island Easter Island is one of the world's most isolated spots. It is about 2,300 miles west of mainland Chile, in the South Pacific. Ancient statues, called moais (moh-eyes), are scattered across the island. Each is carved from a single stone. Some are more than 30 feet tall.
