Gonder The jagged mountains and deep valleys of Simien Mountains National Park, in Gonder, are home to several rare and endangered species including the Walia ibex, a goat found nowhere else in the world. The national park became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1978. The park also hosts more than 50 species of birds.
