Maui
The island of Maui is home to some of Hawaii's most famous attractions including Haleakala (Ha-lay-ah-ja-lah), Crater, the old whaling town of Lahaina and the road to Hana. The Haleakala Crater (pictured here) is the world's largest dormant, or inactive, volcano. Visitors drive or bicycle 36 miles through Haleakala National Park to its summit. On the way up the steep road, the temperature can drop as much as 30 degrees! The long and winding road to Hana offers some of the most beautiful scenery in Hawaii. (WILLIAM ALLEN—GETTY IMAGES)
