The island of Komodo and the rest of the Lesser Sunda Islands are the home of the Komodo dragon, known as "ora" to the locals. The Komodo dragon is the world's heaviest lizard. It can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh in at over 200 pounds. Despite its size, a Komodo dragon can climb trees and swim like any other lizard.
