Puncak Jaya
Puncak Jaya, or "Mount Victory," is the highest island summit on Earth, peaking at 16,024 feet. It's located in Lorentz National Park. Puncak Jaya is one of the most sought-after peaks for adventurous climbers. Many call it Carstensz Pyramid, after the Dutch settler who first spotted it. Indonesians gave the peak its new name after they gained control of the area in 1960. (PAPUA PROJECT FREEPORT MCMORAN/AP)
