The capital and largest city in Mozambique sits on the country's southern tip, on the coast of the Indian Ocean and the intersection of three major rivers. It has long been an important trading hub. Today, Maputo is becoming a popular tourist destination as well. With its outdoor craft markets and wide tree-lined streets, Maputo is known for its laid-back atmosphere.
