Nampula The northern province of Nampula has some of the oldest surviving buildings in all of Mozambique. Mozambique Island, a small island off the coast of Nampula, was the capital of Mozambique until 1898. For the most part, Nampula is made up of undeveloped African plains, known as savannah. The area is populated mostly by African villages. (NIELS VAN GIJNALAMY) |
