Amazon Rain Forest The Amazon jungle is the Earth's largest rain forest, covering much of Peru. The 3,900-mile long Amazon River is fed by a thousand rivers. Some are more than 1,000 miles long! The jungle is home to millions of animals, including the world's biggest rodents, snakes and ants. Some 200,000 native Indians like this Matses Indian woman live in the Peruvian Amazon.
