Located on the Mediterranean coast, Barcelona is Spain's second-largest city. It has been a major port in Spain for over 2,000 years and is rivaled only by Madrid for its art and culture. Its most popular attraction is the Sagrada Familia, Spanish for Holy Family. Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí designed the famous cathedral in the 1880s. It was Gaudí's last project.
