Tomorrow is looking bright for Sunny. The dog, who was rescued from a shelter in Texas, will star as Sandy in the new Broadway production of the musical Annie. The show opens November 8 in New York City. Sunny's success is all thanks to veteran dog trainer BILL BERLONI. He has rescued shelter dogs to train for the role of Annie's canine pal since the show's original stage production in 1976. When the dogs are done acting, they retire to Berloni's farm in Connecticut. Berloni's book, Broadway Tails, tells the inspiring stories of the dogs who have gone from shelter to stage. "I've had so many wonderful dogs," Berloni told TFK. "Each one brings something different to the role of Sandy."
