Build-A-Bear hopes to brighten the holidays for kids in need

Have fun this weekend for a good cause. On October 20 and 21, Build-A-Bear Workshop invites the first 100 people at each of its locations across the country to make a teddy bear—for free. Build-A-Bear will donate the creations to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, which will distribute the bears to children in need this holiday season. The event is part of the Stuffed with Hugs program.

“Every child deserves to celebrate the holidays,” says pop star Cody Simpson, who helped kick off the Stuffed with Hugs weekend in New York City. “It is an honor to support this opportunity to encourage kids to help other kids and send a message of comfort and hope through a hug of a teddy bear.”

The event will continue until volunteers make 100 bears for the program at each store, more than 25,000 bears total. Find a store near you at
