Platform: Nintendo 3DS
A Nintendo favorite has returned to the gaming universe, and the updated version is even better than the original. It's a tough task to improve upon one of the best video games of all time, as reviewers called it 13 years ago. But the developers behind The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D ($39.99) have done just that.
The new version is made specifically for the glasses-free Nintendo 3DS. The game offers stunning 3-D graphics and new motion-control features (for example: you can move the Nintendo 3DS to aim your slingshot at an enemy for more accuracy), while still preserving the classic storyline.
As the young elf hero, Link, players will embark on a quest to help Princess Zelda save the land of Hyrule from the evil Ganon. Along the way, there will be puzzles to solve, artifacts to collect and villains to fight. First-time players will be able to receive "hint movies" that will help guide them through difficult puzzles. Meanwhile, more experienced players who complete the main quest will be able to access a second, more challenging Master Quest.
