Here are some tips on how to stay safe during a hurricane.

Hurricanes bring heavy winds and rains. Stay safe during a storm by following these tips.

BE PREPARED

Have an emergency kit, including water, food, flashlights, batteries and first-aid supplies.

MAKE A PLAN

Talk to your family about what to do during an emergency, including where to meet and how to contact each other.

BE INFORMED

Keep up with TV and radio announcements.

LISTEN

Encourage your family to follow the advice of experts.

STAY INDOORS

During a hurricane, keep away from windows. If possible, go to an interior room.
