The 2012 Summer Olympics brought more than 10,000 top athletes to compete in London, England. Athletes from more than 204 countries competed. Above are the five countries that won the most medals.
1. United States: 46 gold medals + 29 silver medals + 29 bronze medals = 104 total medals
2. China: 38 gold medals + 27 silver medals + 23 bronze medals = 88 total medals
3. Russia: 24 gold medals + 26 silver medals + 32 bronze medals = 82 total medals
4. Britain: 29 gold medals + 17 silver medals + 19 bronze medals = 65 total medals
5. Germany: 11 gold medals + 19 silver medals + 14 bronze medals = 44 total medals
