What can fans expect from season 2 of Austin & Ally and Jessie? Look out for new sets, an unexpected crush and 12 lizard babies causing mayhem. You can catch Austin & Ally on October 7 and Jessie on October 5 on the Disney Channel. Here’s a sneak peak at the new seasons of both shows.
What’s new at Austin & Ally?
If you watched the first season, then you know that Austin and Ally are opposites. Austin (played by Ross Lynch) is an outgoing and successful singer. Ally (played by Laura Marano) is a talented singer and songwriter who suffers from stage fright.
Calum Worthy plays Dez in the show. “You’ll see a lot of Austin and Ally’s goals from last season coming to fruition,” he told TFK.
But just because Austin has a deal with Star Records, does that mean he can have everything he wants? “Austin has high hopes for this year, and a lot of them do end up coming true,” Calum said. “And the ones that don’t come true, he ends up learning a lot from.”
Just as the lead characters’ dreams grow in Austin & Ally, so too have the show’s sets. For the first time, viewers will see the kids go to school. Under a sign with a picture of a manatee, the school mascot, there is a courtyard with lockers where new classmates will be introduced.
There is also an addition to the Mall of Miami. The mall will include a restaurant called Mini’s (where all the food served is tiny!). There will also be a putt-putt golf course called Shot in the Dark and a surfboard rental store.
Laura Marano (who plays Ally) revealed that there could be romance in the air. You can take a guess, but she says you might not be right!
A Look at Jessie
Debby Ryan plays Jessie, a small-town girl who moves to New York City. She becomes a nanny for the Ross family. They have four children for Jessie to keep her eye on.
Debby provided a sneak peak of the show’s new season. “There’s performance, there’s a private helicopter, there are tons of shenanigans,” she said. “Everything goes wrong and, of course, there’s Mrs. Kipling.”
When season 1 ended, viewers discovered that Mr. Kipling, a 7-foot lizard, is actually a Mrs.! The lizard is the Ross family’s pet.
Karan Brar plays Ravi Ross, a 10-year-old adopted child. He hinted that this year there will be a major story line with Ravi and some baby lizards. You’ll have to tune in to find out what happens.
Fans can also look forward to Emma (played by Peyton List) starting high school and Jessie trying out different career options. As the season progresses, the stories will focus on Jessie finding herself, and figuring out what she wants to do with her life.
Both shows promise lots of physical comedy, gags and laughter. How does Raini Rodriguez, who plays Trish in Austin & Ally, sum up the show’s season? “Epic funness! If that’s even a word!”
